In the final days of the 2016 campaign, Donald Trump is now trying to link Hillary Clinton even more to the record of her husband, the former President, as Trump tries to tap into a bit of Clinton fatigue with voters.
“We keep electing the same people over and over again,” Trump said in a speech in Springfield, Ohio. “Clinton, Clinton, oh, Clinton.”
“We’ve had enough of the Clintons, in all fairness,” Trump said at his first of three rallies on Thursday in the pivotal Buckeye State.
It was just a few weeks ago that Trump was targeting former President Clinton over women who had accused him of sexual misconduct; it was a regular feature of his rallies, and he even brought three of Bill Clinton’s accusers to the second Trump-Clinton debate.
A number of Republicans said that wouldn’t work – and it seemingly did not, as Trump no longer brings that up.
Instead, Trump is focusing his attacks on Hillary Clinton, by bringing up Bill Clinton’s support for the NAFTA trade deal and more.
