If there is one thing that we have learned from watching Donald Trump over the course of this race for President, it is that Trump certainly understands how the news media operates, and how to take advantage of the spotlight. And that’s been very true in his search for a running mate as well.
Trump had news organizations on red alert all day on Wednesday, as he surreptitiously gathered top candidates for Vice President in Indiana, where he had rallied with supporters on Tuesday night.
Trump was spotted first with Gov. Mike Pence of Indiana, who had headlined that rally with Trump the night before.
Later in the day, reports surfaced that conservative talk show host Sean Hannity had put Newt Gingrich on a private plane to get him to Indiana to talk to Trump as well.
