Hillary Clinton spent over three hours at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. on this Saturday, answering questions about her email practices while Secretary of State, as investigators look at whether her unusual personal email server violated any federal laws.
“Secretary Clinton gave a voluntary interview this morning about her email arrangements while she was Secretary,” read a statement from Clinton campaign spokesman Nick Merrill.
“She is pleased to have had the opportunity to assist the Department of Justice in bringing this review to a conclusion. Out of respect for the investigative process, she will not comment further on her interview,” Merrill added.
The interview came a day after U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch admitted that a tarmac meeting with former President Bill Clinton earlier this week “cast a shadow” over the email investigation.
Lynch said she would accept the recommendations of career prosecutors who have been looking into the email matter.
“I will be accepting their recommendations and their plan for going forward,” Lynch said during an event at the Aspen Institute in Colorado.
Republicans though saw something much different from Lynch’s tarmac chat with the former President:
Take a look at what happened w/ Bill Clinton. The system is totally rigged. Does anybody really believe that meeting was just a coincidence?
