Donald Trump came here to Washington, D.C. on Wednesday to give a foreign policy speech. The political reaction that it spawned most likely foreshadows the way his campaign will be received from now until November.
For only the second time, Trump used a teleprompter to make his remarks – and it showed, as the GOP leader used a more tentative and soothing voice to deliver his speech.
Trump’s main policy plan is to put “America first” – some readers might recognize that from the 20th Century, when the phrase was used by groups that pressed for isolationism by the U.S., to keep us out of another world war.
“America First will be the major and overriding theme of my administration,” Trump said to a smattering of applause.
