Judge orders monthly release of Clinton emails

By Jamie Dupree

A federal court has ordered the State Department to publicly release Hillary Clinton’s emails from her time as Secretary of State on a monthly basis, starting on June 30 and wrapping up by the end of January 2016.

The Wednesday decision by federal judge Rudolph Contreras was a compromise between the proposal of the State Department, which wanted to release emails every two months, and Vice News reporter Jason Leopold, whose lawyers wanted releases every two weeks.

The judge’s decision requires the State Department to produce Clinton emails on the following schedule, and required the Obama Administration to produce a certain amount in each batch:

June 30, 2015 (a total of 7% of the emails)

July 31, 2015 (cumulative total of 15%)

August 31, 2015 (cumulative total of 25%)

September 30, 2015 (total of 37% of the emails)

October 30, 2015 (running total of 51% of the emails)

November 30, 2015 (total of 66% of the emails)

December 31, 2015 (total of 82% of the emails)

January 29, 2016 (100% of the Clinton emails)
